Ten years ago this March, a very dear friend of The Barge died unexpectedley. As well as being a regular, Pete 'Poppit' Gunthorpe was also a great singer and guitarist who performed with his band Wildwood all over Kent, Sussex and South London. Ten years later he is still very much in the thoughts of many of us here at The Barge.

As a tribute to Pete's life and music we are holding an evening of music, fun, drinking and laughter in his honour on Thursday 17th March, from 8pm onwards. This will take the form of a jam night, with hopefully as many musicians as can make it, who ever played with Pete, coming along to perform some of the vast array of songs he used to do.

If you knew Poppit you know what to expect, but If you didn't, rest assured it will be an entertaining evening with some great live music. Please come along, all proceeds will be going towards the RNLI.

This is also St Patrick's day and Pete also used to throw a few Irish songs into his live sets, so you can expect a bit of that too!
