Aliquot Flow close

Aliquot flow: Alternative / Acoustic / Rock

Aliquot Flow originate from the muddy depths of the dingy Medway delta. Their inspiration is founded in the realisation that watching bands is extremely cool, but being part of one whose music you dig is prominently more fulfilling. From the humble beginnings in October 2005 to 'the now', all members bear gig and song writing experience, and come together with different influences to form a rich and original combined sound. They are teething in the sense of preparation for exploitation and can't wait to get on the road. They look forward to a dedicated future, enjoying every aspect of the adventure along the way. They are prepared for what it takes and know how serious music is and are determined to have fun whilst doing so as independent artists. Who knows where it will lead them, but all that's irrelevant as they want to go only where their music takes them.

Amazing Mr Smith close

The Amazing Mr. Smith has been described as Monty Python's answer to John Williams. His combination of mad inventions and brilliant acoustic guitar playing make him one of the funniest and most original entertainers around. The cardboard tube double bass, the musical shoelaces, the nutcracker played on the tu-tu xylophone, the blue danube on the condom harp and his 3-minute rendition of riverdance have to be seen to be believed.

As well as being on the comedy circuit for at least 10 years, he has made people laugh in every conceivable type of venue in the UK, performed on local and national TV and toured the USA five times (also Holland, Germany, Norway and Jordan). Although his act is very visual, he was recently asked to play some of his bizarre instruments on Ned Sherrin's 'Loose Ends'.

"Delightfully eccentric comic musician " - Time Out.

Biggin Hillbillies close

The Biggin Hillbillies were formed in 1998 having previously played as Anglo Irish Pact (AIP), with John McDonagh on Mandolin & vocals, Bob White on Banjo, Ray Butcher on guitar & vocals and Nye Davies on Bass. They are occasionally joined by Billy Taylor on the Fiddle.

Whilst their mainstream is bluegrass music, their varied repertoire includes country and folk numbers, 50’s and 60’s pop, Irish favourites and jazz standards. As well as bluegrass standards from Flatt & Scruggs, The Stanley Brothers & Bill Munroe they also include numbers from the likes of The Country Gentlemen, Banjo Dan Lindner and Don Reno, plus of course the ever requested ‘Duelling Banjos’ and ‘Foggy Mountain Breakdown’.

Their Country list draws on the hits of Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, John Denver, Jimmie Rodgers, Don Williams as well as lesser known items from the likes of Buck Owens and The Red Clay Ramblers. Billy Taylor brings a lifetimes knowledge of Irish music to the band and solid favourites such as ‘Whiskey in the Jar’, ‘Muirsheen Durkin’ and ‘The Masons Apron’ form cornerstones of their repertoire. They also include a few jazz standards like ‘Sweet Georgia Brown’, ‘Sweet Sue’ and ‘Bye Bye Blues’ in the list, often inspired by Bob’s in depth knowledge of old time favourites going back to his days of tuition from a ‘Black & White Minstrels’ banjo artist.

Bill Clift close

Simply one of the best singer/songwriters around; Bill's songs are performed live solo, as a duo or in bands of up to six members: you should hear them soon.

The sheer quality of the work is evident at once - this is, after all, a man whose voice can be heard behind artists as diverse as David Bowie, Robert Plant and Kylie Minogue, and whose writing credits range from the mainstream - the infamous PWL hit factory, commercials, TV and film music (including the 'Sister Act' soundtrack) - to the experimental: try dropping names like Yellow Note, Happyhead and 7Kings.
